Mr. Blue has also worked successfully in other areas of the entertainment industry. He was hired as Musical Technical Advisor for instruction of actors on guitar for Larimor/Paramount's and NBC's critically acclaimed, "I'll Fly Away" and appeared in several special episodes, including the pilot, for which he composed an original instrumental blues piece.
In 1998, for the Portland Stage Company's presentation of the stage-play SPUNK, Sammy handled the musical arrangements and performed the entire score alone on Dobro guitar while co-starring as "The Blues Guitar Man".
He has also made appearances and served as Technical Advisor in the mini-series "Mama Flora's Family", two documentaries, including "Blues Stories" and "Mending Hearts", and on numerous talk shows around the United States promoting various events.
